Is the fight scene your favorite part of the Shakespearean play? Have you ever wanted to learn how the illusion of sword fighting is created on the stage and in film? Then this workshop is for you! Local actor and stage combat choreographer Derek Nieves will lead this 90-minute workshop outdoors at the beautiful Goodwood Museum & Gardens on Saturday, July 24th from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm.

Southern Shakespeare Company will provide the practice sword, please wear clothing comfortable to move in and closed toed shoes.

Behind the actors, singers, dancers, director, designers and crew is the person holding it all together: the stage manager. Stage management is a vital part of getting a show from conception to opening night, and theaters always need people who are organized, efficient and can get along with the big personalities that make up the cast and staff. Is this you? Come and find out at our Stage Management Workshop with Randi Atwood on Wednesday, July 28th from 6:30 - 8:30 pm!

During this in-person workshop at Tallahassee Museum, participants will begin their exploration of the voice through several exercises that assist with relaxation, breathing techniques, and articulation. Learning techniques for breathing and relaxing allows actors to free their voices from tension that may hinder an actor from performing at their best.

Join professional actress Dee Selmore for this 90-minute workshop on relaxing, breathing, and vocal vibrations!

Are you still intimidated by the audition process? Feeling unsure about how best to prepare for your theatre audition? This workshop is designed for actors with some experience who are interested in expanding their audition toolkit to help best prepare, build confidence, and bring the best “you” to the audition. Participants can use what they learn in this workshop for upcoming Southern Shakespeare Company auditions for our junior Bardlings company and/or our mainstage company. Laura Johnson leads us in this workshop at Making Light Productions from 6:30 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 4th.
